The Spirit of Old Mykonos, Reimagined

Sappho is a restaurant, bar and club brought together under one roof, inspired by the timeless spirit of old Mykonos and the legendary Remezzo era.
My task was to establish the image and cultural identity of Sappho from the outset and create something that felt instantly recognisable. We wanted to capture the sense of freedom, decadence and slightly unruly energy that made old Mykonos so magnetic, while giving it a contemporary point of view.
That image was established through a deliberately provocative and rather risqué photoshoot, creating a visual language that felt sensual, unexpected and unapologetically Mykonian. The imagery became an important part of defining how Sappho would be perceived and setting the tone for everything that followed.
The concept itself brings restaurant, bar and club together as one continuous experience. Inspired by a time when places like Remezzo were social institutions rather than simply venues, Sappho is designed to move naturally from dinner to drinks to dancing.
The creative direction was about honouring the past without recreating it. Taking the attitude, glamour and freedom of old Mykonos and translating it into something contemporary, provocative and alive.
